The CHA supports MP Gordon Brown's private bill to allow private donations to support historical sites

Dear MP Brown,

The CHA would like to thank you for reaching out to us and asking for our support for the adoption of Bill C-315 that would allow private donations for the conservation of historical sites. Historic sites play an important part in fostering general knowledge of Canadian history and identities. Through their association with an event, a person, a place or building, historic sites are important markers of our common history and a reminder of the importance of preserving and knowing our past.

As such, we encourage any initiatives to preserve the architecture, history, and culture of Canada’s past. Hence, it is our pleasure to add our name to your proposal to provide additional means for Canadians to financially support our built heritage.

Sincerely,

Joan Sangster
President
