2014 Shortlist: Governor General's History Award for Scholarly Research

The Canadian Historical Association, which supports the scholarly study of history, has announced the shortlist for the 2014 Governor General's History Award for Scholarly Research: the Sir John A. Macdonald Prize. The Macdonald Prize is given to the non-fiction work of Canadian history, published in 2013, judged to have made the most significant contribution to the understanding of the Canadian past. The prize, sponsored by Manulife Financial in the amount of $5,000, will be awarded at the association’s annual general meeting at Brock University on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
