Dr. Sean Mills is an assistant professor in the Department of History at the University of Toronto, and is author of The Empire Within: Postcolonial Thought and Political Activism in Sixties Montreal, a book which won the Quebec Writers’ Federation First Book Award, as well as an Honourable Mention for the Canadian Historical Association’s Sir John A. Macdonald Award. He is also co-editor of New World Coming: The Sixties and the Shaping of Global Consciousness, and is currently writing a book about Quebec’s relationship with Haiti.
