LAC Forum with University Partners: Exploring Decolonization on the Road to Reconciliation

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will be hosting LAC Forum with University Partners: Exploring Decolonization on the Road to Reconciliation.
Monday November 6th, 2017 at 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa, in the Pellan Room.
The forum will bring together a wide range of participants including college and university students, faculty members, Indigenous community members, public servants, university librarians and archivists, and other information professionals, and will be open to the public.
The forum will be an opportunity for LAC university partners to meet in person in order to share and discuss innovative projects and initiatives related to reconciliation. By providing a platform for dialogue, the forum will support the advancement of reconciliation thinking and actions within academic and memory institutions, and provide an opportunity for LAC to deepen its relationships with academic institutions across Canada.

- Melissa Adams, Librarian and Archivist, Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs, BC

Note: LAC invites those attending the Forum to view three original treaties on display at 395 Wellington street, from November 6 to 10, during Treaties Recognition Week. The Selkirk Treaty is on display as part of the Canada: Who Do We Think We Are? exhibition in the Morley Callaghan room. Also on display are the Robinson-Huron and Robinson-Superior treaties, which were signed in 1850 and cover portions of northern Ontario.
