Conférence marquant les négociations du rapatriement de la constitution

Pour plus de renseignements, consultez le www.patriationconference.ca

En anglais seulement

Thirty years ago in November 1981 the Constitution of Canada was remade. Prime Minister Trudeau and the Premiers of all ten provinces met behind closed doors, to negotiate a constitutional framework for Canada. At the end of several tension-filled days, they had the agreement that became the Constitution Act, 1982.

The Patriation Negotiations Conference is a national conference to mark the 30th anniversary of the negotiations and to assess the consequences. Those who were there - politicians, public servants, drafters - will share their recollections of the negotiating process, their objectives for this historic meeting and their reflections on the outcomes. Constitutional scholars and political scientists will share their insights on the negotiations and their implications for constitutional change in Canada.

Over 200 participants are expected to attend including politicians, policy makers, historians, lawyers, constitutional scholars, students and the interested public. Join us for this unique and important event.

Registration will be available in summer, 2011. For more information please contact:
